Classic vs Reverse
Classic Labouchere chases losses: a loss appends its amount to the end of the line, so the line grows every time you lose. A win crosses off the first and last numbers instead, so the line clears one pair at a time. Completing it — crossing off the whole line — banks the sum of the original line at even money.
Reverse Labouchere flips the append/cross rule: a win appends its amount to the line, and a loss crosses off the first and last numbers. That caps the damage of any one losing streak at the line's sum, since losses only ever shrink the line — but a win streak keeps extending it, so a hot run can outrun the table max just as a bad one can in Classic.
Neither direction can be automated: dice autobets have no list memory, and Stake's strategy builder has no variables. The badge above the calculator is not marketing — it's the audit result. Our simulator runs the system in code, which is the only way to watch it play out.
Note: the completion odds use an unlimited-bankroll model — that’s the honest label for what every Labouchere simulator silently assumes. The ladder table and the survival number are where your real bankroll and the casino’s real table max enter. Where no table max is published, the tool says so rather than inventing a cap.

What does "the table max breaks the bookkeeping" mean?
It means the casino’s bet limit clamps a bet the line calls for, and that clamped bet no longer covers the pair it was supposed to cross off. Labouchere’s bookkeeping assumes every bet gets placed at full size; once the table max caps it, the line can grow on losses faster than a capped win can clear it — the system quietly stops matching its own math.
Does completing the line really bank the line's sum?
Yes, at even money: crossing off the whole line means every number in it was covered by a matching win, and the total banked equals the sum you wrote down. That identity is real math, not a promise — it only holds at an even-money payout. The parity line in the calculator gates the claim the moment your payout moves away from even money.
